Description
We are looking for a dependable IT Support Specialist to provide hands-on technology support for a legal environment in New York, New York. This contract opportunity with potential for a long-term role is ideal for someone who can serve as a primary technical resource, resolve day-to-day user issues, and help maintain secure, reliable systems across the firm. The position offers a blend of end-user support, operational troubleshooting, and participation in technology improvement efforts.
Responsibilities:
Provide first-line and escalated technical assistance for employees, addressing issues involving workstations, peripherals, software platforms, and user access.
Diagnose and resolve problems related to hardware performance, cloud-based applications, file management, and basic connectivity across the office.
Act as a central point of contact for technology needs, ensuring support requests are handled promptly and communicated clearly to end users.
Help protect firm systems and information by following established cybersecurity, data privacy, and database security practices.
Support the upkeep of user accounts, permissions, and device configurations to maintain a secure and efficient technology environment.
Coordinate and contribute to IT projects, including system upgrades, application rollouts, and other technology initiatives that improve business operations.
Document recurring issues, solutions, and support procedures to strengthen service consistency and internal knowledge sharing.
Requirements
Experience providing IT support in an office setting that requires attention to detail, with the ability to manage both routine and higher-priority technical issues.
Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles, data privacy standards, and secure handling of electronic files.
Familiarity with database security concepts and general cyber governance practices.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software-as-a-service applications, and basic network-related problems.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple support needs and technology tasks effectively.
Clear communication skills and a service-oriented approach when assisting users with varying technical skill levels.
Previous experience in a legal or similarly regulated environment is preferred.
