Role Overview
This position is for a Senior Information Systems Engineer focused on Endpoint Security and Certification & Accreditation (C&A). The role involves providing advanced security engineering, endpoint device management, and federal vulnerability reporting support. The engineer will design, test, and implement security solutions to ensure compliance with federal standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and upgrade Government-furnished security services, assets, and systems.
- Engineer security solutions for hardware, software, and services to protect networks from unauthorized devices, users, and malicious code.
- Provide security engineering support in compliance with federal and HHS security mandates such as NIST, DISA STIGs, and FedRAMP.
- Conduct security reviews of network configurations, firewall rules, and endpoint solutions.
- Safeguard Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in compliance with NIST SP 800-122.
- Monitor and assess CVE and Known Exploited Vulnerability (KEV) catalogs.
- Develop and deliver reports on vulnerability findings, remediation timelines, and risk ratings.
- Provide engineering support for endpoint devices including desktops, laptops, mobile phones, and wearables.
- Develop technical plans and standard operating procedures for endpoint engineering.
- Assist with System Security Plans (SSPs), Contingency Plans, and POA&Ms.
Required Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Experience: 8+ years of experience in IT security engineering, endpoint security, vulnerability management, and C&A processes is required.
Technical Skills: A strong knowledge of federal IT security frameworks (NIST SP 800 series, FIPS, FedRAMP, FISMA, CISA BODs) is necessary. Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment, CVE/KEV reporting, endpoint engineering, and SIEM integration is required. Strong documentation and technical writing skills are also needed. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree in Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related field.
- Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
- Experience supporting federal agencies in endpoint security and compliance reporting.
- Expertise in Zero Trust Architecture and advanced vulnerability management solutions.
- Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
The anticipated pay range for this position is $55.00/hour to $65.00/hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and experience.
