One of CEI's largest Telecommunications clients is seeking an Analyzing Technician to join their growing organization!

Client/Industry: Telecommunications (Public safety communications and electronic manufacturing)
Job Title: Analysis Technician I
Location: 100% Onsite | Elgin, IL 60124
Work Schedule/Shift: Mon-Fri 1st Shift: 6:00am - 2:15pm or 2nd Shift: 2:45pm - 11:00pm | Minimum 40 work hours per week.
Duration/Length of Assignment: 5 Month Contract through the end of the year with potential for extension based on performance and business needs
Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour
Additional Information: 1st Shift orientation at 6:30 am / 2nd Shift orientation at 3:00 pm

Steel toe boots required - Temporary badge will be issued
Weekend support may be required based on factory operations

W2 Employment Only – No Corp to Corp / C2C arrangements.

Position Overview:
This position supports an active manufacturing and quality initiative focused on improving the reliability and performance of two-way subscriber communication products. The role is part of an analysis and repair organization responsible for identifying the root cause of failures in electronic assemblies returned from production or the field. The technician will work within a structured operations and engineering support environment, collaborating with peers and reporting into a manufacturing or quality-focused team that supports ongoing factory output and continuous improvement goals. In this role, the technician will perform hands-on analysis of failed electronic assemblies at the board level, documenting findings and providing clear feedback to manufacturing, quality, and engineering stakeholders. The work requires independent execution, consistency across shifting priorities, and the ability to clearly communicate failure trends and corrective actions. The technician is expected to follow established processes while adapting to varying conditions, workloads, and shift requirements in a fast-paced production environment.

Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:

Associate’s Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
1–3 years of related experience with electronic analysis, troubleshooting, or repair
RF (Radio Frequency) knowledge with experience supporting communication or electronic devices
Hands-on experience operating and setting up electronic test equipment including signal generators, modulation and audio analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and oscilloscopes
Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to document failures, record data, and clearly explain diagnoses and corrective actions

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

Ability to read and interpret electronic schematics for component-level troubleshooting
Experience working with two-way subscriber products, including mobile and portable radios

Day to Day/Responsibilities:

Begin each shift aligned to production priorities, assigned analysis queues, and operational needs of the factory
Receive rejected electronic assemblies and perform detailed board-level analysis to determine failure modes and root causes
Utilize signal generators, modulation and audio analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, and oscilloscopes to test, simulate, and evaluate electronic assemblies under controlled conditions
Troubleshoot complex electronic and RF-related issues by isolating components, signals, and circuits contributing to failures
Differentiate between vendor-related defects and internal process-related defects and document findings accordingly
Define corrective actions based on analysis results and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders
Create and maintain detailed failure analysis reports that clearly explain symptoms, diagnostics performed, conclusions, and recommended actions
Record failure data accurately and consistently to support trend analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
Adapt to changing workloads, priorities, and production demands while maintaining accuracy and quality standards
Work independently while collaborating with team members, quality, and operations as needed
Support factory operations during weekends when required to meet production or quality objectives
Comply with all onsite safety, security, and access requirements, including badge usage and protective footwear
