Description
We are looking for an IT Consultant I to support the Disaster Recovery Program in a long-term contract role based in Providence, Rhode Island. In this role, you will help strengthen operational readiness by improving recovery documentation, coordinating testing activities, monitoring compliance progress, and maintaining accurate program records. This position is fully remote, though candidates should be located near a company office, and it is best suited for someone with a solid understanding of disaster recovery principles and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Create, revise, and organize disaster recovery plans, operational runbooks, and testing materials to keep program documentation current and actionable.
Maintain ServiceNow program records and recovery inventories, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and aligned with internal standards.
Schedule and facilitate meetings related to recovery planning and testing, while managing timelines, follow-up actions, and supporting documentation.
Oversee the collection of test evidence and related materials to support validation efforts and program accountability.
Monitor remediation items, compliance status, and risk-related updates, and provide clear reporting on progress and outstanding issues.
Support audit preparation by compiling evidence, organizing documentation, and assisting with recurring and ad hoc reporting needs.
Perform data validation and quality reviews to identify inconsistencies, improve record accuracy, and strengthen overall program reliability.
Requirements
2 to 5 years of experience in IT, business continuity, disaster recovery, or IT governance functions.
Strong working knowledge of disaster recovery concepts and their application across infrastructure, cloud, and business application environments.
Demonstrated ability to produce clear documentation and manage multiple administrative or program support activities with strong attention to detail.
Experience using ServiceNow, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 tools is preferred.
Comfortable coordinating meetings, tracking deliverables, and maintaining organized records in a remote work environment.
Ability to analyze data for completeness and accuracy, then communicate findings through reports and status updates.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and stakeholders.
