Production Support Engineer

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina (Onsite)

Employment Type: Contract

Contract Duration: 12 Months

Role Overview

We are seeking a Production Support Engineer responsible for providing end-to-end monitoring and support for critical infrastructure and application components. The role involves working independently on complex projects, often across multiple phases, to proactively identify and resolve performance issues before they impact service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT production support and a working knowledge of the business functions they support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and research potential production incidents and respond to alerts.
  • Escalate issues to advanced support teams as necessary for effective problem resolution.
  • Perform trending and analysis to proactively address potential issues before they cause production impact.
  • Conduct environment routing, cycling, and the implementation of splash pages.
  • Collaborate with Change Operations to support all implementations and identify potential issues resulting from changes.
  • Identify opportunities for additional monitoring and automation, partnering with engineering teams for implementation.
  • Develop and execute troubleshooting procedures to resolve incidents efficiently.


Required Qualifications

Experience: 3-5 years of experience in IT production support or an equivalent field. Must have experience in a large IT production support environment.

Technical Skills: Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, SiteScope, and Tivoli Netcool/WebGUI. Experience with .NET Core, Java Virtual Machine, and Windows operating systems. Basic understanding of ITIL/ITSM frameworks. Experience with Microsoft Azure is also required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • ITIL Foundation or Intermediary certification.
  • Experience in an ITIL-based role, such as Service Desk, Incident, Problem, or Change Management.
  • Proven ability to work independently, multitask, and collaborate effectively within a global team structure.
  • Ability to work in non-contiguous shifts, which may include weekends.
