Summary



We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Software Engineer in Test. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining advanced testing solutions for web and mobile applications, utilizing cutting-edge automation frameworks and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will apply their expertise to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products, supporting the organization's commitment to building reliable, secure, and accessible digital experiences. The position offers an opportunity to work with innovative technologies and collaborate across teams to promote best practices in testing and software development.


Key Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive QA strategies and test frameworks for APIs, web, and mobile applications with end-to-end validation.

  • Implement and enhance test automation using frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Rest Assured, JUnit, and TestNG.

  • Support continuous integration and deployment processes, including managing build pipelines, code branching, and version control.

  • Collaborate with development teams to improve software testability, ensure accessible web experiences, and influence software design for security and quality.

  • Write and maintain automated and manual tests, including unit, component, integration, functional, performance, and interoperability tests.

  • Use SQL queries for data validation, database seeding, and automation tasks.

  • Participate in cloud infrastructure automation, including cloud deployment, orchestration, and environment management.

  • Contribute to the enhancement of test coverage, release velocity, and overall system health.

  • Support team efforts to adopt best testing practices and promote overall software quality.


Required Qualifications



  • 12+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 6+ years with a master's degree in computer science or a closely related field.

  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing robust QA strategies and test frameworks for API and web applications.

  • Extensive experience in test automation, including frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, and related tools.

  • Strong background in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation.

  • Proficiency with source control tools such as GitHub, Bitbucket, or Sourcetree.

  • Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS.

  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards and testing accessible web experiences.

  • Knowledge of SQL for data validation and automation setup.

  • Ability to participate actively in application development, automated testing, and software engineering best practices.

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across teams to improve software quality.


Preferred Qualifications



  • AWS certification and hands-on experience in cloud-based automation.

  • Experience with advanced monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk and Datadog.

  • Familiarity with chaos testing, performance testing, and security testing methodologies.

  • Skills in front-end development technologies such as Node.js, Java, and JavaScript.

  • Prior experience with enterprise structured problem-solving methodologies.

  • Background in building scalable automation test platforms and pipelines.

  • Good understanding of accessible web design principles and testing.
