COMPENSATION: $57 - $67 HOURLY
Role Overview
We are seeking an Automation Engineer to help scale test automation and CI/CD coverage for new product introductions in a datacenter environment. This role focuses on expanding testing for solutions involving advanced routing protocols, network fabrics, switches, and optics. The position requires a strong background in test automation to keep pace with innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Test and automate end-to-end network test cases, covering control-plane, data-plane, performance, and stress/soak scenarios using an in-house test framework.
- Build and execute traffic-generation tests in lab environments.
- Convert qualification test plans into automated, repeatable suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to gate releases.
- Triage test failures to distinguish between intermittent issues and genuine regressions, filing and tracking issues accordingly.
- Maintain and improve existing automation scripts, test configurations, and lab tooling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve issues and advance test coverage.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 5-8+ years in software or network test automation or QA engineering.
Technical Skills:- Proficiency in Python, including experience with test frameworks, scripting, and debugging.
- Hands-on knowledge of networking fundamentals such as BGP, routing/forwarding, L2/L3, and data-plane vs. control-plane concepts.
- Experience with traffic generators (e.g., Ixia, Keysight, or equivalent).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and working in a Linux environment with source control.
Education: A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field or equivalent network engineering experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Open/R, BGP, ECMP/UCMP, or large-scale DC fabric topologies.
- Experience qualifying network hardware, optics, or vendor Network Operating Systems (e.g., Arista EOS).
- Familiarity with lab automation, device provisioning, or scale and performance testing.
