Job Description
We are seeking a Core Engineering - Automation Engineer IV to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in network test automation, CI/CD, Python development, and traffic generation tools and a proven ability to design, automate, and scale end-to-end network qualification that gates releases for datacenter products.
Responsibilities:
- Test and automate end-to-end network scenarios across control-plane, data-plane, performance, and stress/soak using the in-house DNE test framework.
- Build and run traffic-generation tests with Ixia/Keysight in lab environments.
- Convert qualification test plans into automated, repeatable suites and onboard them as CI/CD conveyor nodes that gate DC/BB push pipelines.
- Triage test failures for flakiness versus legitimate regressions, file issues, and track ownership with on-call partners.
- Maintain and improve existing automation, test configurations, and lab tooling.
- Collaborate with Netcastle, Routing, and FBOSS cross-functional partners to unblock coverage.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 3+ years in software or network test automation, or QA engineering.
- Strong Python skills for test frameworks, scripting, and debugging.
- Networking fundamentals, including BGP, routing and forwarding, L2/L3, and control-plane versus data-plane concepts.
- Experience with traffic generators such as Ixia or Keysight.
- CI/CD pipeline experience and proficiency in Linux and source control.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to Open/R, BGP, ECMP/UCMP, or large-scale datacenter fabric topologies.
- Experience qualifying network hardware, optics, or vendor NOS such as Arista EOS.
- Familiarity with lab automation, device provisioning, or scale and performance testing.
- 5-8+ years in software or network test automation, or QA engineering.
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
