Job Description
The Gaming Systems Application Owner operates as an individual contributor within the Global Gaming organization and is accountable for the operational ownership of assigned gaming-related applications supporting both shipboard and shoreside environments.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary, hands-on operational owner and technical subject matter expert for assigned gaming systems and applications used across shipboard and shoreside environments
Oversee day-to-day application operations, including monitoring performance, managing incidents, and coordinating resolution of system issues
Act as the central point of contact between Global Gaming business teams, IT, vendors, compliance and support partners for application-related matters
Partner with IT and vendors to ensure system availability, stability, and compliance with Carnival technology standards and regulatory requirements
Support application enhancements and configuration changes, translating operational needs into clear requirements and validating delivered solutions
Participate in release planning, testing, and deployment coordination to minimize operational disruption
Support shipboard teams by providing functional guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and operational insight related to gaming systems
Maintain application documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge artifacts to support consistent system use and supportability
Assist in vendor management activities, including issue escalation, service reviews, and performance tracking
Requirements & Skills
3-8 years of experience in application support, application ownership, IT operations, or business systems support in a complex, enterprise environment
Experience defining strategy, owning a roadmap, and driving execution
Experience with end-to-end product delivery
Experience supporting enterprise applications in an operational or production environment
Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders including business users, IT teams, and third-party vendors
Proficient in standard business and collaboration tools (e.g., ticketing systems, documentation tools, Microsoft Office/365) including ZenDesk, ServiceNow and Wrike.
Strong proficiency with data analysis using SQL and Excel
Ability to travel up to 10% on their ships (needs appropriate documents for international travel)
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Exposure to casino management systems, gaming systems, or regulated technology environments is beneficial but not required
Experience supporting 24/7 operational environments (e.g., hospitality, travel, retail, gaming) preferred
Familiarity with incident, problem, and change management practices (ITIL concepts a plus)
Strong understanding of application lifecycle management and production support processes
General knowledge of enterprise technology concepts, including systems integrations, data flows, and infrastructure dependencies

Awareness of security, compliance, and regulatory considerations in operational systems
Understanding of shipboard or remote operations environments and related challenges is a plus
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to assess issues and drive resolution

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to work independently as an individual contributor while collaborating across teams
Comfortable working with vendors and external partners to resolve issues and deliver outcomes
Ability to remain calm and effective during system outages or high-impact operational issues
