Compensation: $22 - $27 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLEOur client is seeking highly motivated, entry-level individuals to launch their technical careers as Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) in Pecos, Texas, through a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is part of the Elevate Program-a paid, structured training and development pathway designed for those with curiosity for technology and a strong work ethic, even if you do not have prior data center or technical experience. As a member of the Engineering and Facilities team, you will support the operation and maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, follow detailed safety and operating procedures, and help maintain world-class facility reliability. The Elevate Program provides hands-on experience, professional development, and mentorship, preparing you for a full-time role and future leadership opportunities within a Fortune 100 technology company.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Support operation and maintenance of critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure in the data center
- Uphold and promote top safety standards, including participation in safety initiatives and mitigation planning
- Assist with rack installations, power-up activities, and commissioning of data center equipment
- Conduct facility rounds, log readings, and troubleshoot issues within service level agreements (SLAs)
- Gain competence with systems such as UPS, switchgears, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, and BMS
- Maintain accurate asset and inventory tracking for data center equipment
- Participate in structured technical training and on-the-job learning as part of the Elevate Program, including daily learning modules and mentorship
- Support design, build-out, and commissioning activities for new data center infrastructure
- Follow detailed safety and operating procedures to ensure facility reliability
- Utilize Microsoft Office and web-based operational tools for documentation and reporting
- Begin on the Rack Install Team, learning foundational data center skills, and transition to assigned shift schedule after initial training
- Complete initial onboarding, safety, and compliance training, and participate in online readiness assessments for full-time conversion eligibility
WHAT YOU BRING- Motivated and eager to pursue a career in Data Center Engineering Operations with a positive attitude and technical aptitude
- Ability to work 10-hour rotating day shifts (Sun-Wed & Wed-Sat), including holidays
- Ability to lift and move up to 39 pounds independently; group lifts for 40+ pounds
- Capable of performing construction tasks from ladders and standing for extended periods
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word) and web-based operational tools
- Must pass a background check and drug screen; reliable transportation required
- Willingness to participate in structured training and on-the-job learning through the Elevate Program
- Strong interest in electrical, mechanical, or facilities systems
- Commitment to upholding safety standards and supporting safety initiatives
- Ability to learn and gain competence with critical infrastructure systems (UPS, switchgears, generators, chillers, CRAC/CRAH, BMS)
