Job: SAP MDG Functional Architect
Location : REMOTE ( Chicago, IL )
Duration: 3+ Months contract
You will serve as the bridge between business strategy and technical reality designing pure governance frameworks, crafting comprehensive proposals, and securing stakeholder buy-in. Once a proposal is approved, you will provide a seamless hand-off to our IT execution team (the hands-on-keyboard developers) to build the solution. If you are a visionary thinker who excels at process design, documentation, and stakeholder alignment within the SAP ecosystem, we want you on our team.
Key Responsibilities
Stakeholder Management: Act as the central liaison between business leaders, data stewards, and IT execution teams. Build relationships, manage expectations, and drive consensus across diverse global functions.
Proposal Creation & Advancement: Lead the end-to-end creation of master data governance proposals. Define the scope, business value, governance rules, and functional architecture required for success.
Executive Presentation: Translate complex MDM strategies into clear, compelling presentations. Educate stakeholders on the "reasons behind the processes" and secure executive buy-in for new data governance initiatives.
Execution Handoff: Compile exhaustive documentation and populate all necessary requirements to seamlessly transition approved proposals to the technical execution team for development.
Process Architecture: Design and standardize pure governance workflows and master data processes, ensuring alignment with Mars broader enterprise architecture (specifically SAP MDG and CFIN).
Qualifications & Skills
Pure Governance Expertise: Deep, proven experience in Master Data Governance (MDG) with a focus on defining rules, standards, and data quality metrics.
Strong MDM Foundation: Extensive knowledge of Master Data Management principles. You must deeply understand MDM processes, lifecycles, and the fundamental business reasons that make them necessary.
SAP Ecosystem Mastery: Strong functional experience and knowledge of SAP MDG and SAP Central Finance (CFIN).
Exceptional Documentation & Presentation: Top-tier ability to document complex functional requirements and present them persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of key stakeholder engagement, proposal creation, and advancing initiatives from concept to approval.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to effectively bridge the gap between business strategy and technical execution, ensuring the development team has everything they need to succeed without requiring you to be hands-on-keyboard.
