Summary

Practice Group: Machine Learning & Scientific AI Research

The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a premier computational research organization in New York City. The client combines advanced computing with machine learning to understand how biologically and pharmaceutically relevant molecules behave at the atomic scale, and uses that understanding to engineer precise, highly selective therapeutics. It is now growing its interdisciplinary group with exceptional machine learning engineers and researchers who will apply large language models to drug discovery and molecular science.

This deeply collaborative position sits where three things meet: fundamental LLM research, multimodal model training at massive scale, and real scientific breakthroughs. The client runs purpose-built supercomputing hardware alongside high-performance commodity systems to power its in-house and partnered drug discovery programs. You would see foundational modeling work translate directly into new medicines. The organization seeks inventive contributors who help sustain an intellectually stimulating, upbeat, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Scale massive model training and inference pipelines, and tune their efficiency on the client’s state-of-the-art compute infrastructure.
  • Architect pre-training data pipelines and run distributed, parallelized training at scale.
  • Advance post-training methods, including instruction tuning, contrastive learning, and reinforcement learning.
  • Integrate non-text modalities such as 3D structures, molecular graphs, and time-series signals into multimodal learning frameworks.
  • Partner across scientific and engineering disciplines to turn modeling advances into discoveries.

What You Bring

  • Deep, demonstrated expertise in one or more of: Large-Scale Machine Learning Systems, LLM Architecture And Training, or Multimodal Learning
  • Strong Python programming proficiency
  • A distinguished track record of academic or professional accomplishment
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity and versatility, plus a proven history of innovation within Machine Learning
  • Background in Drug Discovery or Biomolecular Simulation is welcome but not essential. Curiosity and machine learning excellence matter more.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Base salary: $450,000–$1,000,000 per year. The final figure depends on educational background and the depth of previous experience.
  • Variable compensation: Sign-on and year-end bonuses.
  • Benefits: A generous package that includes support for relocation and immigration.
  • Hybrid schedule: In the office Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.
