The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a premier computational drug-discovery client in New York City for early-career Data Associates. The client combines purpose-built supercomputing hardware, high-performance commodity systems, and machine learning to model how biologically important molecules behave at the atomic scale, then applies those insights to design highly selective therapeutics. In this role, you’ll work alongside the machine learning group, shaping the scientific data that drives both internal research programs and external collaborations. The engagement is expected to span roughly two years, offering deep exposure to the intersection of data engineering and pharmaceutical science.

The client’s culture is built on curiosity, positivity, and genuine collaboration, and it seeks inventive contributors who will help sustain that energy.

What You’ll Do

  • Curate scientific datasets tied to therapeutic research, getting them ready for model training and analysis.
  • Unify information from heterogeneous sources into consistent, well-organized structures.
  • Scale data handling workflows to accommodate very large volumes without sacrificing quality.
  • Build detailed metadata catalogs so researchers can quickly locate the assets they need.
  • Safeguard lineage records, ensuring every dataset’s origin and transformation history stays traceable.
  • Partner closely with machine learning scientists to anticipate their data needs.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics discipline
  • Practical, hands-on work within Linux systems
  • Working knowledge of Python and SQL
  • Background in Large-Scale Dataset Management
  • Skill in Data Structuring across varied inputs
  • Experience with Metadata Cataloging and Data Provenance practices
  • An early-career mindset paired with eagerness to grow in a scientific setting

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Base salary of $170,000–$210,000 per year, with final placement shaped by prior experience and educational background
  • Variable pay including a sign-on bonus and a year-end bonus
  • Full, generous benefits, including relocation support and immigration assistance
  • Hybrid arrangement: in-office Tuesday through Thursday, with optional remote work on Mondays and Fridays
