Summary

The Opportunity

StaffRight Associates is recruiting for a premier company at the forefront of computational drug discovery. The client is seeking Software Developers to join its drug discovery software group in New York City. The organization combines advanced computing infrastructure, custom high-performance hardware, and machine learning to model how medically important molecules behave at atomic resolution. It uses that insight to engineer precisely targeted, highly selective therapeutics, both in its own programs and with outside research partners.

In this role, you’ll work side by side with exceptional chemists, biologists, computer scientists, researchers, and ML engineers to conceive, build, and maintain the software, systems, and infrastructure behind the client’s drug discovery and AI initiatives. The client values inventive contributors who help sustain an energizing, supportive, and team-oriented workplace. This is a rare chance to help shape transformative technology inside a fast-moving, cross-disciplinary environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Architect high-throughput scientific workflows that accelerate research pipelines.
  • Engineer cheminformatics algorithms and tooling that advance molecular design.
  • Build platforms to store, manage, and analyze data at massive scale.
  • Develop resilient backend systems designed to scale with scientific demand.
  • Craft visualization software that turns complex molecular data into clear insight.
  • Collaborate with domain scientists to translate research needs into robust technical solutions.
  • Sustain and evolve the production tools and infrastructure that keep discovery programs moving.

What You Bring

  • Strong programming ability in Python and C++
  • Fluency with Linux/UNIX Tools
  • Deep, hands-on background with Cheminformatics Software Packages, for example:
    • Virtual Screening and Docking
    • Computer-Aided Small-Molecule Design
    • Molecular Modeling
    • Large-Scale Chemical Database Engineering
  • Valuable but not required: Workflow Engineering, Cluster Architecture Software Development, High-Performance Data-Parallel Computing, and Systems Software
  • Above all, intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and a proven record of accomplishment. These outweigh deep knowledge of any single specialty.

Compensation & Total Rewards

  • Annual base salary of $250,000–$600,000, determined by factors such as depth of prior experience and educational background
  • Variable compensation through sign-on and year-end bonuses
  • Generous benefits, including relocation and immigration support
  • Hybrid schedule: on-site Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely Monday and Friday
