Senior Desktop Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a Senior Desktop Engineer in Horsham, PA.

Responsibilities:
* Lead engineering, deployment, and lifecycle management of desktop, laptop, and mobile endpoints in alignment with enterprise and regulatory standards
* Architect and maintain modern endpoint management platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune), including configuration profiles, deployment workflows, and compliance policies
* Define and enforce endpoint standards, baselines, and best practices for security, performance, and user experience
* Oversee application packaging, testing, deployment, and software lifecycle processes
* Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex endpoint issues
* Own endpoint compliance controls and ensure adherence to regulatory, audit, and internal security requirements
* Lead vulnerability management efforts, including patching strategy, remediation planning, and endpoint security posture monitoring (encryption, EDR, baselines)
* Maintain audit-ready documentation and partner with Security, Risk, and Compliance teams to strengthen endpoint governance
* Provide day-to-day technical leadership to desktop support staff, including task delegation and workload prioritization
* Mentor team members, review documentation, and ensure operational consistency
* Develop and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base content
* Coordinate workstation deployments, hardware refresh activities, and user onboarding
* Support secure endpoint configurations for remote and hybrid workforce environments
* Oversee endpoint-related incidents, service requests, and change processes aligned with ITSM practices
* Maintain accurate asset inventories, lifecycle records, and compliance documentation
* Research and evaluate emerging endpoint, automation, and compliance technologies to drive continuous improvement

REQUIREMENTS:
* Relevant certifications preferred (Microsoft Endpoint/Intune, security certifications)
* 5+ years of experience in desktop engineering or endpoint management, including senior/lead responsibilities
* Advanced knowledge of enterprise desktop and mobile endpoint environments
* Extensive hands-on experience with Windows endpoint administration
* Strong expertise with Microsoft Intune or similar modern endpoint management platforms
* Experience in automated or zero-touch deployment solutions
* Proven ability to implement endpoint security, compliance, and configuration policies
* Working knowledge of vulnerability management processes and regulatory frameworks
* Experience with enterprise application packaging and deployment tools
* Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence architectural decisions
* Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring technical teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; audit-ready documentation experience preferred
* Ability to work a flexible schedule as required

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
