Hybrid Monday - Thursday in either Austin, TX or Salt Lake City, UT or Dublin, IE

The organization seeks a Physical Security Systems Engineer to support and optimize enterprise physical security technologies. The role will administer access control, video management, and SQL-based reporting systems while resolving user issues and maintaining uptime. The engineer will collaborate with IT on servers and networks, contribute to integrations and upgrades, and create documentation to support users and operations. Candidates should bring hands-on experience with Lenel or similar systems, SQL proficiency, and strong troubleshooting capability.

Rate: $40.00 to $50.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Administer and troubleshoot Lenel access control systems and integrated subsystems.
  • Support and maintain enterprise video management systems to ensure uptime and reliability.
  • Manage, monitor, and optimize SQL-based system databases, including data integrity and reporting.
  • Perform system checks and ensure uptime of supported systems.
  • Support internal applications and integrations with upstream and downstream systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve end-user tickets and escalations in a timely manner.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support when required.
  • Collaborate with IT teams on system administration, servers, and network infrastructure.
  • Establish strong working relationships with internal teams through clear communication.
  • Create and maintain documentation, user guides, and how-to materials for end-users.
  • Identify and implement process automation opportunities using AI and related technologies.
  • Contribute to system integrations, upgrades, patch management, and compliance activities.

Experience Requirements:
  • 1 to 4 years of experience in physical security systems engineering or IT systems support.
  • Hands-on experience with Lenel OnGuard or similar enterprise access control systems.
  • Knowledge of video management platforms such as Milestone, Genetec, or Avigilon.
  • Proficiency in SQL for queries and data management with relational databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and a customer service mindset for user support.
  • Understanding of system administration, networking fundamentals, and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience creating clear documentation.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted or hybrid security platforms (preferred).
  • Knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as PowerShell or Python (preferred).
  • Familiarity with compliance standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or PCI (preferred).
  • Experience building dashboards and reports in Tableau or similar BI tools (preferred).
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools or automation platforms to enhance operations (preferred).

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
