Job Description
Position: Release Governance Consultant
Work Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
Duration: Long Term Contract
We are seeking a skilled Release Governance Consultant to define and enforce our release management strategy. The ideal candidate will ensure all deployments meet the 'Definition of Done' and pass all quality and security gates, while managing the release calendar and coordinating deployment windows across multiple workstreams including Mobile, Web, and ServiceNow.
Responsibilities:
- Define and enforce the release management strategy, ensuring compliance with quality and security standards.
- Manage the release calendar and coordinate deployment windows across various workstreams.
- Identify and resolve release-path conflicts, performing deep-dive risk assessments for high-criticality applications.
- Lead Go/No-Go meetings and provide transparent reporting on release readiness to leadership.
- Collaborate with DevOps Engineers to enhance CI/CD pipelines, aiming for fully automated 'Push-button' deployments.
- Facilitate post-implementation reviews to identify bottlenecks and reduce Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).
Mandatory Skills:
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in release governance and DevOps.
- Proven experience in DevOps practices and methodologies.
- Strong understanding of release management processes and tools.
- Experience with quality and security gate assessments (SAST/DAST).
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline automation.
- Experience in risk management and conflict resolution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
