Yellow Duck Technologies is seeking a cleared Journeyman Software Engineer to support the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex software systems for mission-critical offensive cyber operations. This position applies software engineering principles and SAFe Agile methodologies to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. The engineer works within cross-functional teams to implement features that meet technical, functional, and security requirements throughout the software lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Develop software features according to user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Implement automated unit and integration tests (80% coverage minimum).
- Participate in code reviews and pair programming.
- Support DevSecOps pipeline implementation and maintenance.
- Develop microservices using containerization technologies.
- Integrate with Government platform services and APIs.
- Participate in all team-level SAFe ceremonies.
- Support troubleshooting and production issue resolution.
- Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge transfer.
Requirements:
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
- 7+ years of software development experience.
- Proficiency in one or more languages: Python, Java, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience with microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing.
- Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development.
- Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
