Yellow Duck Technologies is seeking a cleared Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of complex software systems for mission-critical operations. This position applies advanced software engineering principles and SAFe Agile methodologies to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. The Senior Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams, mentors junior developers, and ensures software solutions meet stringent technical, functional, and security requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead design and implementation of complex software features.
- Architect technical solutions that align with system design principles.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
- Conduct thorough code reviews ensuring quality and security standards.
- Implement and optimize DevSecOps automation.
- Design and develop scalable microservices architectures.
- Lead technical discussions and architecture decisions.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the stack.
- Participate in and contribute to SAFe Program-level activities.
- Support third-party code reviews and security assessments.
Requirements:
- Must have an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
- 10+ years of software development experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in multiple programming languages (Python, Java, Go, etc.).
- Deep understanding of microservices, containerization, and orchestration.
- Extensive experience with DevSecOps practices and toolchains.
- Strong knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principles.
- Experience with distributed systems and message queuing (Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ).
- Proficiency in database technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch).
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical implementations.
