Senior Network Engineer – Cisco, ACI & SD-WAN

Position Overview

Seeking a Senior Network Engineer with strong Cisco networking, ACI, SD-WAN, and enterprise network security experience. Responsible for multi-site network assessments, infrastructure standardization, network operations, troubleshooting, and automation within a large healthcare environment.

Work Location: Hybrid – On-site and remote

Key Responsibilities

• Lead network discovery and assessments across LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center environments.

• Analyze network architecture, routing, switching, IP addressing, redundancy, and security.

• Use tools such as Device42, Lansweeper, ServiceNow Discovery, and SolarWinds.

• Manage Cisco network infrastructure, firewall configurations, and SD-WAN connectivity.

• Review hardware/software lifecycle, firmware upgrades, vulnerabilities, and end-of-life risks.

• Develop standardized network configurations, remediation plans, and technical documentation.

• Provide Tier 3 escalation support within NOC/Managed Services operations.

• Execute network changes, including switch additions, firewall changes, and site refreshes.

• Support network automation, monitoring improvements, and self-healing infrastructure initiatives.

• Coordinate network changes with technical teams and healthcare stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

• 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience, including 3+ years in a senior/lead role.

• Strong Cisco networking expertise:

  • Routing: OSPF, BGP, EIGRP.

  • Switching: Cisco Nexus and Catalyst.

  • Wireless: Meraki and Catalyst 9800.

  • Security: ASA and Firepower.

• Cisco ACI certification required.

• Hands-on experience with at least two enterprise firewall platforms: Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Check Point.

• Experience with SD-WAN platforms such as Cisco Viptela, Meraki, Fortinet, or VMware VeloCloud.

• Experience with network discovery tools and ServiceNow ITSM/CMDB.

• Strong knowledge of network security, segmentation, NAC, 802.1X, VPN, and PKI.

• Understanding of hybrid cloud and site-to-cloud connectivity.

• Ability to work independently across multiple locations and communicate technical findings effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification.

• Palo Alto PCNSE, Fortinet, or equivalent security certifications.

• Healthcare or other regulated-industry experience.

• Knowledge of HIPAA, HITRUST, IoMT segmentation, and EMR/EHR connectivity.

• Experience with Python, Ansible, or Terraform for network automation.

• Previous MSP or NOC Managed Services experience.
