Content Engineer Program Manager

Description

We are seeking a Content Engineer Program Manager to lead initiatives focused on the development, evaluation, and optimization of AI-driven content systems. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in journalism, digital content strategy, and AI prompt engineering, with a passion for improving the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of content evaluation and generation.
You will work closely with cross-functional partners to define evaluation standards, design prompts, analyze performance, and drive continuous improvement across AI content workflows.

Key Responsibilities

1. Establish Evaluation Failure States

  • Define and document potential failure modes in content evaluation and generation systems
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to proactively identify risks and mitigation strategies

2. Develop Evaluation Guidelines

  • Create, iterate, and maintain detailed guidelines for end-to-end content evaluations across defined scenarios
  • Ensure guidelines are clear, actionable, and aligned with human judgment standards

3. Prompt Engineering

  • Design and refine system prompts that guide models toward consistent, human-like evaluation of responses
  • Continuously test and improve prompts through structured feedback loops

4. Performance Analysis

  • Analyze evaluation results to identify trends, strengths, and gaps in model performance
  • Translate findings into clear, data-driven recommendations for improvement
  • Track progress over time to inform future development

5. Supervised Fine-Tuning

  • Support supervised fine-tuning efforts to improve model quality and reliability
  • Coordinate annotation, training, and review workflows as needed

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of project or program management experience, ideally in content engineering, AI, digital media, or related environments
  • Strong editorial background with experience in journalism, digital content strategy, or content creation
  • AI prompt engineering and annotation experience, including conversation design and evaluation frameworks
  • Critical thinking and editorial judgment, with a proven ability to quality control large datasets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience producing or editing long-form educational or technical content
  • Data analysis skills, with proficiency in tools such as Google Sheets, Excel, or similar analytics platforms
  • Ability to translate insights into recommendations that improve content quality and system performance
  • Advertising or related industry experience is a plus

  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimize workflows and evaluation quality
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and editorial partners to drive project success
  • Maintain clear documentation and reporting across ongoing initiatives
  • Stay current on trends in AI, content engineering, and digital media

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $60.00/hr.
