We are seeking an experienced CICS System Programmer to support and maintain enterprise IBM Mainframe CICS environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and operational excellence across mission-critical systems.
🔹 Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in CICS administration, installation, upgrades, performance tuning, problem determination, and system programming within large-scale z/OS environments.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure, maintain, and support IBM CICS Transaction Server environments
• Perform CICS upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities
• Monitor and optimize CICS system performance and availability
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex CICS-related incidents and production issues
• Support CICS regions, transactions, resources, and system definitions
• Implement security controls and coordinate with RACF administrators
• Analyze dumps, traces, and diagnostic data for problem resolution
• Collaborate with application teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors
• Develop automation and operational procedures to improve efficiency
• Participate in disaster recovery testing and system resilience initiatives
🔹 Required Skills
• Strong experience as a CICS System Programmer in enterprise mainframe environments
• Expertise with IBM CICS Transaction Server (TS)
• Strong knowledge of:
- z/OS
- JCL
- TSO/ISPF
- SMP/E
- RACF
• Experience with CICS installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrades
• Knowledge of CICS performance monitoring and tuning
• Experience analyzing dumps and debugging system issues using IPCS and related tools
• Strong understanding of mainframe networking and subsystem integration
• Experience supporting mission-critical production environments
🔹 Preferred Skills
• Experience with MQ Series integration
• Knowledge of CICS Web Services, APIs, and modern integration patterns
• REXX programming and automation experience
• Exposure to Sysplex environments and high-availability architectures
• Experience with DevOps and automation initiatives in mainframe environments
