- Client is seeking an Integration Architect to lead and manage the integration workstream on the Metrik Local Public Health Data solution implementation program, providing technical leadership, architectural direction, governance, and day-to-day coordination across internal teams and vendors.
- This role will function as the integration delivery lead, owning execution, timelines, dependencies, and stakeholder coordination for all system-to-system integrations.
- This role is responsible for defining integration architecture, standards, patterns, and best practices, and for overseeing the planning, design and implementation of all Metrik integrations in alignment with organizational policies, security standards, and enterprise architecture.
- This Integration Architect will actively manage delivery across system interfaces, resolve dependencies, and ensure integrations are planned, designed, built, tested, and deployed as a unified, end-to-end solution.
- This role is a critical execution lead for Metrik, ensuring all systemto-system integrations come together into a coherent, reliable, and scalable platform. The role serves as the single point of accountability for integration outcomes across the Metrik program The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST.
- However, flexibility during business hours is expected to support project needs, stakeholder availability, and critical delivery milestones. This position would be expected to follow a hybrid model of work that combines remote work with some in-office workdays.
DETAILED LIST OF JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Define and govern the enterprise middleware and integration architecture, including platform selection, environment strategy, and architectural patterns across MuleSoft, messaging, cloud, and related integration technologies
- Establish enterprise API standards and design guidelines for REST and SOAP services, including versioning, security, error handling, and lifecycle management Serve as the enterprise integration architecture authority and accountable owner for the integrations workstream, supporting application teams by developing designs, advising on integration approaches, and ensuring consistency with approved integration patterns and security policies Define the governance model for the enterprise service/API registry, including ownership, documentation standards, and lifecycle controls Develop / review integration designs and critical implementation artifacts to ensure alignment with architectural standards Provide delivery oversight to the integration development team and perform detailed code review as appropriate.
- Participate and assist with project planning, design, development, and release management activities for various EHS shared service component developments and EHS application developments. Liaise with end users, development staff, system administrators, management, application teams, data architects, security architects, strategic partners and staff from other organizations to coordinate and drive successful integration, delivery and operations of application systems.
- Direct and coordinate vendor-delivered integration work (where applicable), including soliciting vendor support as necessary and ensuring adherence to architectural standards and delivery expectations Own integration architecture documentation, including integration patterns, reference architectures, and cross-system data flow diagrams Investigate new solutions, tools, and techniques to incorporate into standards.
- Define and maintain enterprise integration standards, including naming conventions, error handling patterns, security models, and data exchange formats. Submit to Technical Architecture Group Boards (TAGs) and provide formal design requests for approval Ensure integrations comply with Commonwealth security, privacy, and data governance requirements. Define and develop technical frameworks and components that address common needs and can potentially be leveraged enterprise wide.
- Consult with business leadership to develop and maintain an architecture design in alignment with business strategy and objectives and translate those objectives into an executable integration roadmap. Define, architect and develop a cost-effective infrastructure architecture based on the Mulesoft platform.
- Participate in technical audits, design reviews, and recommend improvements with accountability for integration remediation and follow-through.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for integration issues, including problem analysis, diagnosis, and remediation for critical events and rollouts. Plan, prioritize, and manage integration work assignments to ensure delivery within established timelines Perform risk assessment and own mitigation and remediation planning for integration related risks Mentor integration engineers and vendors on approved patterns and architectural expectations and delivery best practices. Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive experience designing enterprise integrations, including hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, Runtime Fabric (RTF) and API-led connectivity patterns
- Experience evaluating and architecting integrations using multiple platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica, AWS-native integration services) Strong understanding of integration runtime technologies (Java-based platforms, messaging frameworks, ESBs);
- hands-on development experience is beneficial but not required Experience with AWS offerings & services, including API Gateway, Lambda, & WAF Experience with XML and JSON schema Strong knowledge of integration security architecture, including TLS, OAuth 2.0, JWT, certificate management, and secure API exposure
- Experience with Azure OAUTH & JWT Working knowledge of development tools - SVN, Git, SOAPUI, Postman Experience developing CI and CD pipeline. Able to translate business requirements to technical specifications.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience Five (5) to Seven (7) plus years of experience in an Enterprise Architect/Integration Architect role .
- Eight (8) to Ten (10) plus years of IT experience working with relevant tools, applications, technologies, teams, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to lead integration architecture across multiple teams and vendors, providing technical direction without direct line authority Excellent design, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills MuleSoft Architect or Integration-related certifications preferred; equivalent real-world architecture experience accepted.
