Job Details

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draft substantive complaints, motions, oppositions, correspondence and other pleadings for contested matters.
  • Research and prepare accompanying memorandums for various probate issues.
  • Draft and respond to interrogatories, subpoenas and document requests.
  • Attend meetings and court hearings.
  • Draft estate planning documents, including but not limited to, wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies and irrevocable life insurance trusts.
  • Establish durable power of attorney and medical durable power of attorney.
  • Work with a financial professional to find ways to reduce and avoid estate tax when possible.
  • Find ways to avoid the probate court process.
  • Set up trusts to protect client assets.
  • Administer estates of varying sizes with strong paralegal assistance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • At least 5-10 years' of substantive experience in estate planning and estate administration.
  • Experience in estate planning and administration required.
  • Experience in Orphans' Court litigation preferred
  • Experience in succession/business planning preferred
  • Excellent academic credentials as well as strong organization, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail in all work, along with the ability to manage multiple files and to prioritize workloads to effectively meet all deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, staff, and clients.
  • Forward thinking, organized, and a team player.
  • Ability to independently solve problems and exercise sound judgment with minimal direction.
