Description: About the Role We are seeking an experienced Electronic Technician III to support avionics-related fabrication, assembly, testing, modification, and maintenance activities in both production and development environments. The role involves hands-on work with electronic and electromechanical systems, including wire harness fabrication and/or circuit card assembly and repair. The ideal candidate has strong experience reading engineering documentation and working within quality-focused manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities - Assemble, install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic systems and components.
- Fabricate and build wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and electrical assemblies.
- Perform circuit card assembly, repair, and rework activities as required.
- Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Support development engineering activities involving prototypes, experimental circuitry, and test equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electronic components, circuit boards, and wiring systems.
- Conduct modifications and upgrades to electronic and electromechanical systems.
- Ensure compliance with ESD, FOD/FOE, safety, and quality standards.
- Document work performed and support production and testing activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to support development and manufacturing objectives.
Must-Have Qualifications - 4+ years of electronics technician experience, or equivalent technical training from a trade school or military electronics program.
- Experience with wire harness fabrication, cable assembly, or circuit card assembly.
- Ability to interpret engineering specifications, technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control practices.
- Knowledge of FOD/FOE (Foreign Object Damage/Elimination) procedures.
- Experience with electrical fabrication and wire harness assembly.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications - Cable harness assembly experience.
- Electrical soldering and micro-soldering experience.
- Circuit card assembly, repair, and rework experience.
- IPC-WHMA-A-620 certification.
- IPC J-STD-001 certification.
- IPC-7711/7721 certification.
- NASA-J-STD certification.
- Other electronics assembly and workmanship certifications.
