Position OverviewThe Desktop Support Technician provides onsite technical support to end users, focusing on installation, troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of hardware and software in a primarily Windows-based environment. This role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a solid understanding of desktop technologies and basic networking.
Key Responsibilities- Provide onsite desktop support, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and software.
- Support end users with Windows-based systems, Office applications, printers, mobile devices, and general workstation issues.
- Utilize ticketing systems to manage, update, and resolve support requests efficiently.
- Perform basic network troubleshooting to resolve connectivity issues.
- Deliver high-quality customer service and communicate effectively with users at all levels.
- Assist with deployments, upgrades, and device migrations as needed.
- Provide remote support when required and escalate issues appropriately.
- Maintain professionalism and composure in fast-paced or high-volume environments.
Required Skills & Attributes- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows 10/11, hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Experience with device deployment, imaging, and configuration.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow preferred).
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of network connectivity and workstation setup.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting Office 365, Active Directory, and remote support tools.
- A+ certification or similar credentials are a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with end users.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the role.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Frankfort, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
