Senior Full Stack Engineer (PHP)

About the Project

• We are urgently hiring a senior full stack engineer to lead a full rewrite of an existing payments application. The engagement is expected to run for 2 to 4 months. The objective is to redesign the architecture and deliver a production ready system within a strict timeline.
• A key requirement for this role is strong experience leveraging AI assisted development tools, specifically Claude. The selected engineer must be comfortable using Claude with sufficient token capacity to help design architecture, accelerate refactoring, and support large scale code rewrites efficiently.
• This is not a feature enhancement role. We are looking for someone who has shipped and maintained a payments product end to end and understands production realities such as reliability, compliance, observability, and operational stability.

Key Responsibilities

•             Redesign the system architecture and service boundaries

•             Use Claude to assist with architectural planning, code generation, and structured refactoring

•             Rewrite and modernize existing PHP and Lumen services

•             Strengthen authentication flows using JWT

•             Improve reliability of Kafka driven event workflows

•             Support mobile integration where needed

•             Enhance CI and CD pipelines and deployment workflows

•             Ensure the system meets production grade standards for a fintech product

•             Deliver within the defined 2 to 4 month timeline

Required Experience

Backend

•             5 plus years with PHP and Laravel or Lumen

•             Strong fintech or payments domain experience, mandatory

•             Experience designing and maintaining microservices in production

•             Hands on experience with event driven systems, Kafka preferred

Mobile

•             3 plus years with Flutter

•             Strong understanding of BLoC and mobile architecture patterns

•             Experience integrating secure authentication and payments workflows

Infrastructure

•             Working knowledge of Docker and CI and CD pipelines

•             Experience deploying and operating services on AWS

•             Familiarity with Nginx and production server configuration

•             AI Assisted Development

•             Proven experience using Claude or similar large context AI tools for architecture design and large scale code rewriting

•             Ability to manage large token contexts effectively

•             Experience structuring prompts and workflows to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality
