Python Developer

JOB SUMMARY: The Python Developer role involves supporting and enhancing a large-scale, globally distributed VMware-based virtualization platform within an enterprise infrastructure environment. The engineer will develop and maintain provisioning systems and backend tooling, ensuring the platform remains stable, scalable, and easy to manage. This position requires strong programming, system-level expertise, and collaboration with global teams to deliver high-performance infrastructure solutions. Key Responsibilities: Develop and enhance provisioning systems and platform tooling for virtualization infrastructure Build APIs and command-based interfaces for managing virtual machine configurations Ensure stability, scalability, and manageability of a globally distributed VMware platform Collaborate with system administrators, developers, and support teams to optimize platform performance Write secure, robust, and testable code for backend systems Participate in code reviews, documentation, and implementation of technical specifications Support continuous integration and deployment processes using modern development tools Troubleshoot and resolve issues across infrastructure components including OS, network, and storage Contribute to maintaining and improving infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, and NTP Required Qualifications: Strong programming skills in Python and Perl Experience working on large, modular codebases (10k+ lines) Knowledge of SQL and database programming Experience with development tools such as Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD practices Strong expertise in Linux/UNIX systems and system-level programming Experience in backend server development for distributed systems with high availability APIs Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment and contribute to shared codebases Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in large, multinational enterprise environments Experience with virtualization technologies, especially VMware Knowledge of IaaS platform design, implementation, and support Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, OS, network, and storage Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Erlang or Prolog Education: Bachelors Degree
