Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in CICS, COBOL, DB2, z/OS mainframe application development, and enterprise batch/online transaction processing systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for application development, maintenance, debugging, performance optimization, and technical support of mission-critical mainframe applications.

This role requires strong hands-on mainframe engineering experience in enterprise production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Mainframe Application Development

Design, develop, modify, and maintain enterprise mainframe applications using:
- COBOL
- JCL
- SQL
- Assembler (where applicable)
Develop solutions supporting:
- Online transaction processing
- Batch processing
- Enterprise business workflows

CICS / Transaction Processing

Develop and support CICS-based applications (mandatory)
Troubleshoot online transaction processing issues
Support transaction performance optimization and stability

Database & Data Management

Work with enterprise data platforms including:
- DB2
- VSAM
Develop:
- SQL queries
- Data access logic
- Batch data processing workflows
Support:
- Data validation
- Data integrity
- System integration workflows

System Maintenance & Support

Support efficient operation of enterprise mainframe systems
Perform:
- Application enhancements
- Maintenance updates
- Production issue resolution
- Incident troubleshooting
Work within mission-critical production support environments

Testing & Debugging

Perform:
- Unit testing
- Debugging
- Root cause analysis
- Troubleshooting
Ensure high-quality, stable software delivery

Performance Optimization

Analyze and optimize:
- Application performance
- Transaction efficiency
- Batch job performance
- Resource utilization

Collaboration & Documentation

Collaborate with:
- Business analysts
- System engineers
- Infrastructure teams
- Development teams
Maintain:
- Technical specifications
- Support documentation
- Development artifacts
- User documentation

Mainframe Tools / Environments

Experience with:

ISPF
