Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer / Java Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ, Plano, TX or Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity. This is a hands-on development role focused on a strategic initiative to migrate critical applications and business processes to a future-state platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting the migration while collaborating with multiple technology teams to ensure a smooth transition. This role offers exposure to large-scale transformation projects, modern technologies, and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and support application and business process migrations
- Collaborate with multiple technology teams to ensure a smooth transition from existing to strategic platforms
- Influence architecture and platform adoption across the organization
Requirements: - BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline
- 7+ years of end-to-end application development experience using core Java 11+ (Multi-threading, Collections, Functional Programming)
- Experience with modern frameworks such as Spring, Spring Boot, and JPA/Hibernate
- Strong understanding of database design concepts, SQL, query tuning, and optimization
- Proven ability to profile, optimize memory, and tune data-intensive, large-scale enterprise applications
- Strong coding, analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities with a track record of delivering innovative solutions
- Excellent communication skills, capable of bridging technical and business needs
- Ability to clearly communicate status, risks, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical teams
- Demonstrates ownership and takes responsibility for deliverables
Desired skills: - 5+ years of experience with Frontend UI development (HTML5, AngularJS, Backbone.js, Bootstrap) in an Agile environment
- Experience with Big Data and Cloud technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, large-scale distributed ecosystems, and cloud computing architectures
- Strong background in enterprise stress testing and risk management (credit, operational, and market)
- Degree from a top-tier university
Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
