Deluxe MuleSoft Lead Architect role

We are seeking a skilled MuleSoft Developer to design, develop, and maintain APIs and integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in enterprise integration patterns, API-led connectivity, and working with cross-functional teams to enable seamless system integrations across cloud and on-premise applications.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Design, develop, and implement APIs and integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform
· Apply API-led connectivity approach (Experience, Process, and System APIs)
· Develop Mule flows using Mule runtime, DataWeave, and connectors
· Build and manage REST/SOAP APIs and integrate with enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, databases, third-party apps)
· Implement error handling, logging, retries, and performance optimizations
· Ensure APIs follow security best practices (OAuth 2.0, JWT, TLS, API policies)
· Use Anypoint Exchange for API and asset reuse
· Deploy Mule applications using CI/CD pipelines
· Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to MuleSoft best practices
· Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and QA teams
· Support production issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve integration defects
· Prepare technical design documents, API specifications, and flow diagrams
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft 4.x
· Expertise in DataWeave 2.0
· Solid understanding of RESTful API design
· Experience with Anypoint Platform components:
· Design Center
· API Manager
· Runtime Manager
· Anypoint Studio
· Experience working with CloudHub 1 and 2 Mule deployments
· Good understanding of integration patterns and messaging concepts
· Proficiency in JSON, XML, RAML
· Knowledge of version control systems (Git, Bitbucket)
· Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
· Experience in API security using OAuth 2.0, JWT, and other policies
· Certified in MuleSoft Certification Developer
· Experience in MuleSoft Flex Gateway
· Knowledge of AWS EKS and ECS
Nice-to-Have Skills
· AWS knowledge
· Exposure to event-driven architecture
· Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
· Familiarity with DevOps tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
