Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Functional Tester with strong expertise in end-to-end software testing, security testing, integrated eligibility systems, and Medicaid/TANF applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for test planning, test execution, defect management, interface testing, and validation of complex web-based applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Review system documentation and identify test objectives and testing requirements
Develop, update, and execute functional, regression, and security test scenarios
Perform end-to-end software testing across web-based applications
Conduct security testing including role-based access control and authorization validation
Validate integrated eligibility, public assistance, and Medicaid/TANF application functionality
Create and execute interface testing for flat files and SOAP UI services
Develop SQL queries against Oracle databases to validate business scenarios and data accuracy
Analyze, document, and track software defects and testing results
Coordinate with development and business teams to resolve issues and validate fixes
Support testing activities across client-server, SOA, web-based, and three-tier architectures
Participate in regression testing, defect retesting, and release validation activities
Work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Required Skills:
3+ years of end-to-end software testing experience
Experience creating and executing test scenarios and test cases
Strong defect analysis and defect documentation experience
Security testing experience including role-based and access control validation
Experience testing integrated eligibility applications
Public Assistance and Medicaid/TANF testing experience
Experience with client-server, SOA, web-based, and three-tier application environments
Knowledge of testing methodologies including white-box, black-box, load, coverage, and regression testing
Experience with Microsoft Test Manager (MTM) and TFS
Strong Oracle SQL query writing and data validation experience
Interface testing experience including Flat File Testing and SOAP UI
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Agile, RUP, Lean, or Waterfall methodologies
Microsoft PowerPoint presentation development and delivery experience
Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field
Knowledge of public sector and state government applications
Experience working with Pennsylvania state projects
