Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Automation Technician for a 9+ month contract position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Rochester, NY. As a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Technician, you will join a collaborative team to contribute to maintaining and optimizing manufacturing processes that enable scientific discoveries. You will work with advanced equipment and technologies to ensure smooth operations while adhering to quality standards. This is a 3rd shift role, from 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities: - Maintain a safe work environment by following standards and procedures, aligning with legal regulations
- Identify, document, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement
- Perform immediate and preventative maintenance for manufacturing production equipment
- Engage the Maintenance and Engineering team to challenge the status quo to make continuous operational improvements
- Collaborate with all appropriate departments/staff in progress updates, problem analysis, and corrective action recommendations
- Work with Molding, Scheduling and Production Manager on prioritizing machine repair scheduling
- Work closely with robotics, vision systems, ultrasonic welding, and off set & inkjet printing to produce finished assemblies
Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, maintenance, or a related role required
Desired skills: - Preferred fields of study: Engineering Technology, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related technical field
- Technical or trade school certification in a relevant discipline preferred
- Experience with PLC systems, SCADA, and automated manufacturing equipment
- Experience performing equipment calibration and validation
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and documentation
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, and automated systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment documentation
- Knowledge of GMP, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements in manufacturing environments
- Expertise using precision measurement tools and test equipment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing software systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Physical Requirements / Work Environment: - Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions
- Ability to work different shifts and respond to emergency calls as needed
Pay range: up to $28.00 per hour
