YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ Office of Water , you would help support the logistical and operational structure for TCEQ statewide the business foundation for the whole agency.

This position is a member of our Water Supply Division.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
  • Conduct in office and/or onsite engineering and technical reviews, analyses, quality control and evaluations of routine to highly complex information from internal and external customers to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures; and follow up with appropriate actions.
  • Provide information and engineering assistance concerning requests and submittals from public water systems to internal and external customers through verbal communication, email, correspondence, meetings, onsite assistance, and presentations.
  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers related to the agency's drinking water program through verbal and written communication, correspondence, reports, meetings, presentations, and responses to Public Information Requests (PIRs).
  • Provide training and mentoring to other staff. Serve as a subject matter expert engineer for assigned programs/topics.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Engineer III

Texas Professional Engineer's license plus two years of fulltime engineering experience beyond licensure.

Qualifying work experience that obtained post licensure as an engineering graduate student or teacher.

Career Ladder Progression One year of fulltime experience at TCEQ as an Engineer II.

Employees in this classification series may research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure, including but not limited to a communication infrastructure system, cybersecurity system, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment system, or water treatment facility. See Tex. Business & Commerce Code Section 117.001(2). Accordingly, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure is a requirement to be hired for and to continue to be employed with TCEQ.

WORK SCHEDULE

Standard business hours are MF, 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.
Individual and work group schedule determined by the TCEQ Austin Office.
