Job Description:

Role: Facilities Data & Capability Manager

Location: Gaithersburg, MD (3-4 days onsite)

Summary: Apex Systems is seeking a Facilities Data & Capability Manager for a client within the Life Sciences industry, to provide site-level leadership and ensure the accuracy, integrity, and interoperability of facilities data, systems, and asset information supporting maintenance, space management, compliance, sustainability, and business continuity.

Operating within R&D Site Operations, this role enables reliable facilities performance through strong data governance, systems alignment, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining integrity and traceability of infrastructure drawings, asset records, and emergency documentation
  • Ensuring accurate asset, space, and work order data across facilities and maintenance platforms
  • Supporting work order lifecycle consistency, reporting, and performance analytics
  • Validating BMS, IoT, and energy telemetry data used for sustainability and operational monitoring
  • Ensuring capital project assets and data are fully propagated into operational systems post-handover
  • Serving as a site-level liaison to enterprise Digital and AI teams, ensuring facilities data is analytics- and AI-ready

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Facilities Management, Architecture, Construction Management, or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting facilities systems, asset data management, operational technology integration, or infrastructure data environments.
  • Working knowledge of IWMS platforms (e.g., FM Systems/PinPoint).
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or equivalent work order platforms.
  • Experience supporting ECDR or digital drawings environments.
  • Understanding of BMS, metering systems, and OT data flows.
  • Working knowledge of asset tagging and lifecycle tracking practices.
  • Ability to perform structured data validation (SQL read-level preferred).
  • Experience coordinating capital project system integration downstream to operations
  • Familiarity with compliance documentation in regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting data preparation for analytics or AI enablement initiatives.
  • Ability to coordinate across maintenance, workplace, safety, and digital teams.
  • Documentation and process-mapping capabilities supporting Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
