Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) Technical Business Analyst to support and enhance our platforms covering Exposure Management, Credit Risk Reporting, and Risk Analytics, working closely with business and technical teams. The role involves translating requirements, optimizing processes, and ensuring reliable support for critical risk functions. The ideal candidate combines CCR domain knowledge, strong analytical skills, and technical fluency to drive system improvements and support strategic objectives.

 

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $140k - $155k/year & benefits (see below).

 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Analysis & Application Support for Exposure Management

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and tech teams to gather, analyze, and document requirements for EM applications, including EPE/PFE calculations, limit monitoring, intraday pre-trade analysis, and exposure reports.
  • Translate business needs into process diagrams, user stories, functional specs, data mappings, and test plans to support system improvements and incident resolution.
  • Act as a primary liaison ensuring CCR priorities are well understood and implemented accurately by technical teams.

Incident, Problem, & Change Management

  • Serve as the main contact for high-impact production incidents affecting exposure reporting, limit breaches, intraday analysis, and regulatory deliverables.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to resolve issues such as calculation errors or data discrepancies, implementing permanent fixes to prevent recurrence.
  • Uphold change and release governance standards in line with organizational policies, DevOps practices, and audit requirements.

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Assess current CCR workflows, incident trends, data reconciliation, and operational procedures to identify opportunities for streamlining and control enhancements.
  • Define and monitor key operational metrics related to application performance, data quality, and incident response.
  • Standardize and document business processes, support procedures, and control points to improve operational stability.

Platform Reliability & Automation

  • Identify automation opportunities to enable self-healing processes for batch jobs, data validation, and recovery.
  • Work with Engineering and Infrastructure teams to improve system observability, alerting, capacity planning, and overall resilience.
  • Support disaster recovery/disaster backup planning, including regular testing and documentation.

Regulatory, Audit & Risk Controls

  • Ensure EM applications comply with regulatory, audit, security, and risk management standards.
  • Lead engagement with internal audit and regulatory exams, demonstrating control maturity.
  • Maintain IT control frameworks covering access, changes, and data integrity across relevant teams.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Overall 12+ years of IT experience is required
  • Hands-on experience of Business Analysis within financial services technology
  • Extensive experience supporting risk, exposure management, or front-office/risk applications.
  • Proven track record working with business stakeholders, development, QA, and support teams in a regulated environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Finance, Mathematics, or related field.

Technical & Domain Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of Counterparty Credit Risk and Exposure Management concepts, including derivatives lifecycle, market data, PFE, EPE, collateral, margin processes, limits, stress testing, and scenario analysis.
  • Experience with risk platforms involving batch and intraday data flows, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Ability to work with SQL, data analysis tools, ETL workflows, and system dependencies.
  • Skilled in creating BRDs, functional specs, process flows, test cases, and data mappings.
  • Familiar with tools like JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, and reporting/analytics platforms.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, testing processes, and change management.
