Location: Regional Travel (Home-Based)
Travel Requirement: ~75% (Typically home most weekends)

About the Role

We are seeking a Data Center Travel Technician to support data center operations across multiple sites in the midwest region. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, working in different environments, and traveling-while still maintaining a reasonable work-life balance. Although travel is significant, technicians are typically home on weekends, with travel generally occurring during the workweek.

What You'll Do

• Deploy, install, and decommission data center hardware (servers, racks, cabling, networking equipment).
• Perform break/fix, troubleshooting, and diagnostics on data center infrastructure.
• Execute physical layer work including racking, stacking, cable management, and labeling.
• Follow change management, safety, and security protocols across customer sites.
• Collaborate with remote teams, project managers, and on-site stakeholders.
• Accurately document work completed, issues encountered, and resolutions.
• Travel to data center locations across the U.S. as project needs require.

Travel Details

• Approximately 75% travel, primarily Monday-Friday.
• Technicians are typically home on weekends, barring some project exceptions.
• All travel expenses are covered per company policy.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in a data center, IT hardware, or field technician role (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Strong understanding of server hardware, cabling standards, and data center best practices.
• Ability to lift and move equipment (up to ~50 lbs) and work in data center environments.
• Comfortable working independently while traveling.

This is a Contract position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
