Job Title: Content Finder (Senior Software Engineer)W2 Only
Location: Remote
Duration- 6 Months Contract
We are seeking a hands-on contractor to deliver headless APIs, search indexes and Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools for Adobe Content Finder. Agents and consuming applications should discover and retrieve authorized content through a stable service layer over PostgreSQL, independently of the existing UI and without direct database access or coupling to its internal schema.
Responsibilities
•Design and implement TypeScript and Node.js services with clear contracts for content discovery, search and retrieval.
•Build and maintain search indexes, including versioning, updates, rebuilds, freshness visibility and relevance evaluation.
•Develop MCP server tools that expose bounded service capabilities to agents, with validated inputs, structured results and predictable errors.
•Preserve caller identity and permissions across API, retrieval and MCP paths. Keep database credentials and unrestricted raw SQL out of consumer and agent interfaces.
•Deliver tested integrations, operational diagnostics, consumer examples and documentation that the full-time team can maintain.
Required skills
•Strong production experience with TypeScript and Node.js, API design, versioned contracts, pagination, validation and error handling.
•Practical experience with service authentication, scoped authorization and permission-aware data access using an established identity model.
•Search and indexing design, including index lifecycle management, retrieval filters, ranking evaluation and performance diagnosis.
•Experience building MCP servers or integrations with named tools, input schemas, structured output contracts and defined error behavior.
•Automated unit, integration and contract testing; production observability; and safe deployment and recovery of containerized services.
Supporting data skills
Use PostgreSQL and SQL for data access, query analysis and modeling. Apply stable identifiers, data quality checks and provenance to support reliable API, search and MCP results.
Nice to have
Azure Container Apps, Blob Storage, embeddings, hybrid search and TypeScript SDK design. Next.js and React are useful integration context; primary UI development is not the focus.
