Oracle Techno Functional Architect

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Techno‑Functional Architect to support and modernize a large, highly customized Oracle on‑prem Supply Chain environment within a complex, high‑volume consumer/mobility business.

This role requires deep hands‑on Oracle expertise combined with strong architectural thinking and the ability to design cloud‑ready, vendor‑agnostic solutions. The ideal candidate is an Oracle expert who understands business processes end‑to‑end, can work across technical and functional boundaries, and is comfortable operating in both legacy and modern cloud ecosystems.

The organization is on a multi‑year transformation journey from on‑prem Oracle to cloud and SaaS platforms, and this role plays a critical part in enabling that transition while maintaining stability of mission‑critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Oracle Supply Chain & Functional Leadership

• Serve as a senior techno‑functional SME for Oracle on‑prem Supply Chain applications, including:
• Order Management
• Inventory Management
• Warehouse Management
• Transportation Management
• Procurement (Direct and Indirect)
• Support and enhance heavily customized Oracle implementations, where standard Oracle functionality has been significantly extended or adapted.
• Analyze complex business requirements related to ordering, inventory, fulfillment, and orchestration, and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure Oracle solutions align with operational and customer needs.

Technical Architecture & Integrations

• Design and implement custom extensions, services, and integrations around Oracle applications.
• Build and support microservices‑based PaaS layers using open‑source technologies (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Architect and maintain integration and orchestration layers between Oracle, upstream omni‑channel systems, billing, activation, and other enterprise platforms.
• Ensure solutions can handle very high transaction volumes, peak periods, and business‑critical release cycles.

Cloud & Modernization

• Contribute to the organization’s cloud transition strategy, including future Oracle SaaS adoption.
• Design solutions that are cloud‑agnostic, leveraging:
• Azure (primary platform today)
• AWS
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Avoid vendor lock‑in by recommending technologies based on cost, scalability, and long‑term flexibility.
• Balance modernization initiatives with ongoing support of critical on‑prem systems.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• 10+ years of experience working with Oracle on‑prem applications, with a strong focus on Supply Chain.
• Proven experience in large, complex, highly customized Oracle environments.
• Experience supporting business‑critical systems in high‑volume, consumer‑facing domains.

Technical Skills

• Strong hands‑on experience with:
• Oracle Order Management
• Inventory
• Warehouse Management
• Transportation
• Procurement
• Experience building custom Oracle extensions, integrations, and APIs.
• Strong Java background with experience in Spring Boot / microservices.
• Solid understanding of service orchestration and integration patterns.

Cloud & Platform Skills

• Hands‑on or architectural experience with Azure services.
• Working knowledge of AWS and/or OCI.
• Ability to design portable architectures that work across multiple cloud platforms.

Functional & Soft Skills

• Strong techno‑functional mindset (approximately 70% technical, 30% functional).
• Ability to understand complex business processes and system interactions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous, evolving environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in telecom, mobility, or large‑scale consumer businesses.
• Exposure to Oracle Cloud / SaaS transformations (Finance or Procurement a plus).
• Experience working in long‑term transformation programs alongside legacy systems.
• Prior experience acting as a solution or enterprise architect.
