A bit about us:We are a well-established aluminium die casting and machining manufacturer currently seeking an Automation Engineer.
In this role, responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated manufacturing systems to support safe, efficient, and high-quality aluminum casting, finishing, and machining operations.
This role offers hands-on responsibility, collaboration with skilled teams, and opportunities to impact production efficiency, quality, and innovation.

Job DetailsResponsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated equipment including PLC-controlled machinery, robotic systems, conveyors, and CNC-related automation
- Diagnosing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic system issues in a manufacturing environment
- Support PLCs, HMIs, sensors, VFDs, servos, and industrial networks
- Assist with programming changes, backups, and documentation for automation systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on automated equipment to reduce downtime
- Support new equipment installation, startup, and commissioning
- Work with engineering and production teams to improve cycle times, uptime, and process capability
- Follow all safety, lockout/tagout, and company procedures
- Maintain accurate maintenance and automation documentation
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of experience in industrial automation
- Working knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
- Experience with industrial electrical systems (480V, control circuits, sensors, safety devices)
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and meet timelines
- Excellent attendance and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in metal casting, machining, or heavy manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with CNC machine automation and auxiliary equipment
- Experience with robotics, vision systems, or automated material handling
- Understanding of industrial safety standards and machine guarding
- Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing projects
- Fanuc robotics recommended
Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in an industrial environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Willingness to work off-shift, overtime, or on-call as required
