Overview
Join our high-growth team as a hands-on, execution-focused IT Systems Administrator responsible for maintaining the stability, security, and performance of Moonshot's technology environment. This role is highly operational and service-driven, supporting Engineering, Production, and Operations through disciplined system administration, user support, and infrastructure maintenance.
The IT Systems Administrator executes established IT standards, implements technical controls, and ensures systems remain reliable and secure as the organization scales.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & User Support
Respond to daily IT requests and troubleshoot workstation, printer, and AV system issues.
Configure, deploy, and maintain user devices, peripherals, accounts, licenses, and access changes in accordance with defined security standards. Execute onboarding and offboarding tasks to ensure accurate system access and asset recovery.
Escalate complex infrastructure issues to the Director as needed.
Infrastructure Administration
Maintain and support servers, virtualization environments (Hyper-V), backups, and networking infrastructure, including Microsoft 365 services, Windows Server environments, and related platforms.
Support SQL environments and basic scripting where required.
Assist with network expansions, device installations, and facility technology upgrades.
Monitor system health and address performance or reliability issues proactively.
User & Asset Management
Procure, stage, image, deploy, and maintain IT hardware.
Track inventory of devices, licenses, and software subscriptions.
Perform hardware repairs, replacements, and lifecycle refresh activities.
Maintain accurate documentation and organized IT records.
Security & Controls Execution
Implement & maintain security controls across endpoints, user access, and network systems.
Enforce access control standards and privilege management practices.
Support incident response activities and remediation efforts.
Execute backup validation and assist with disaster recovery testing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Qualifications
5+ years of IT systems administration experience, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong hands-on experience with:
o Microsoft 365 & Admin Consoles
o Windows Server environments
o Hyper-V virtualization
o Network administration (VPN, firewall, switching)
o Backup and disaster recovery systems
Experience supporting CAD environments (SolidWorks 3D, SolidWorks Electrical and PDM) strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of SQL and scripting.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and access control best practices.
Strong troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
Clear communication skills with both technical and non-technical users.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience preferred.
CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent experience preferred.
Microsoft certifications are a plus.
Security certifications (e.g., Security+) are a plus.
