About the Role
We are partnering with a leading national general merchandise retailer to hire an experienced Product Manager to own and advance their enterprise data products. In this role, you will drive the full product lifecycle—from discovery through delivery and optimization—for data-driven products used across multiple business functions.
This is a high-impact position for a product leader who thrives at the intersection of business and technology. The ideal candidate brings a strong product ownership mindset, makes data-driven decisions, and can influence cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority while managing multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
As a Product Manager, you will define product vision and strategy, translate business needs into actionable requirements, and collaborate with engineering, analytics, and data teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and compliant solutions. Key responsibilities include:
  • Own the full product lifecycle for enterprise data products, from discovery and planning through delivery and ongoing optimization.
  • Define product vision, roadmap, business outcomes, and success metrics.
  • Gather and prioritize requirements from business stakeholders, customers, engineering, analytics, and data teams.
  • Translate business needs into detailed product requirements, user stories, and prioritized product backlogs.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure solutions are scalable, reliable, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Use data to evaluate product performance, identify trends, validate requirements, investigate issues, and recommend enhancements.
  • Coordinate product delivery across multiple teams while managing priorities, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Monitor product adoption and continuously improve products based on user feedback and business outcomes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Product Management experience, including ownership of data-driven or analytics-focused products.
  • Experience managing products through the complete product lifecycle, from concept to production support.
  • Strong experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical requirements, user stories, and product roadmaps.
  • Hands-on SQL experience to analyze data, validate requirements, troubleshoot issues, and support product decisions.
  • Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including:
    • Data quality
    • Data governance
    • Metadata
    • Data lineage
    • Data definitions
    • Data lifecycle management
  • Experience partnering with Engineering, Data Architecture, Analytics, Data Governance, and Business stakeholders.
  • Experience defining KPIs and measuring product success using dashboards and reporting tools.
  • Experience working in Agile environments with backlog management, sprint planning, and product prioritization.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar technologies.
  • Experience using BI and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or equivalent.
  • Experience with enterprise data catalog or governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Microsoft Purview, or Informatica.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data products used across multiple business functions.
