TECHNICAL SKILLS

Direct experience owning or technically directing carrier orders (ASRs, LSRs, provisioning, turn?ups, disconnects)
Extensive expertise in legacy telecom infrastructure, including Channel Banks, POTS, 56K, and T1
Hands?on leadership of cutover events with real?time technical decision making
Proven leadership of end?to?end telecom migrations and retirements in live production environments
Strong stakeholder management skills across carriers, contractors, SMEs, and senior leadership
Strong working knowledge of Ethernet, MPLS, E?Line, E?LAN, fiber, and wireless access

We are seeking a senior Telecom Solution Engineer / Solutions Architect to lead a mission?critical Channel Bank and legacy telecom retirement initiative. This role is accountable for both technical strategy and execution, operating as a hands?on subject matter expert while providing structured execution leadership across multiple stakeholders in a regulated utility environment.
The role will evaluate existing legacy telecommunications systems, identify service dependencies, and design a phased migration approach to transition services from TDM?based technologies (Channel Bank, POTS, 56K, T1) to modern Ethernet, MPLS, fiber, and wireless solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end?to?end execution of legacy telecom retirement efforts from discovery through decommission
Perform service inventory and dependency analysis, including demarcation and site constraints
Develop migration phases, cutover plans, rollback strategies, and testing requirements
Own or technically direct carrier engagement, including ordering, provisioning, turn?ups, and disconnects
Coordinate execution across carriers, contractors, internal SMEs, operations teams, and leadership
Lead cutover events, providing real?time technical oversight (on?site or remote as required)
Maintain execution tracking, risk management, and status reporting using Microsoft 365 tools
Drive formal service decommissioning and billing disconnects to ensure cost savings are realized
Ensure adherence to change management and regulatory standards common to utility environments
