Job Description
We are seeking a Data Engineer I to join our Customer Recommendation & Insights squad supporting Fifth Third Bank. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in SQL and data transformation on relational data and a proven ability to execute recurring data refreshes, modernize data pipelines, and contribute to a next-generation householding data product.
Responsibilities:
- Run monthly householding data product refreshes end to end using documented playbooks and tooling.
- Build a strong foundation in the householding data domain and the platform ecosystem.
- Develop and optimize SQL to support complex transformations and quality checks.
- Leverage dbt and Snowflake during refreshes and enhancement work to solidify best practices.
- Support modernization activities to move off legacy systems and integrate historical and new householding data.
- Assist with remediation of orphan customer accounts to improve data trust and continuity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimizing queries.
- Basic understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience cleaning and transforming data for analytics or operational use.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, clear communication, and a collaborative approach.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Snowflake for data warehousing.
- Experience with dbt for transformation and data modeling.
- Python for scripting or data pipeline support.
- Basic understanding of data science workflows and partner needs.
