Job Summary

We are seeking a Quality Engineer II to support quality assurance activities within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on identifying and resolving product and process quality issues, supporting shop floor operations, and implementing corrective actions to ensure consistent product quality. The ideal candidate will be a team-oriented professional with hands-on shop floor experience and strong analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize quality tools and methodologies to establish approval criteria and identify quality concerns in products and processes.

  • Investigate unit quality issues by collecting and analyzing data, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

  • Provide direction to quality inspectors regarding containment procedures, quality standards, and monitoring of critical processes.

  • Facilitate discussions with internal teams and external customers to resolve quality-related issues and drive corrective actions.

  • Generate and maintain monthly quality reports to track key performance metrics and support management reviews.

  • Participate in and help identify Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to enhance manufacturing processes and product quality.

  • Work closely with production teams on the shop floor (50 75% of time) to monitor operations and ensure adherence to quality standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in quality engineering, manufacturing quality, or related field.

  • Strong knowledge of quality tools, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work collaboratively with production teams in a manufacturing environment.

  • Willingness to work 3rd shift and spend significant time on the shop floor.

  • Metatarsal safety footwear required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience working in manufacturing or heavy equipment environments.

  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).

  • Experience working with quality metrics, reporting, and inspection processes.
