We seek an Application Development Manager to lead software development and implementations for our Engagement platforms. This leadership role manages application development teams across numerous technologies, development languages, and a mixture of Software as a Service (SaaS), Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS), and proprietary applications with a specific emphasis on Salesforce.
In coordination and collaboration with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, the Project Management Office (PMO), Data Management, & Product Ownership, this role is jointly responsible for the successful execution of software-related projects and initiatives primarily focusing on technical design, development, & unit testing.
In this role, you will... - Recruit, develop, and manage the Application Development team.
- Develop, implement, and enforce best practices, standards, training materials, and job aids to facilitate the professional development of the Application Development team.
- In conjunction with the Project Management Office, Product Ownership, and Data Management teams, establish project milestone target dates and actively participate in backlog grooming, story pointing, and sprint planning ceremonies while managing the technical design, development, & unit testing processes to ensure on-time delivery.
- Manage technical design and build scope and changes throughout the delivery process.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews and provide regular and transparent performance feedback to the Application Development team members.
We are looking for a candidate with...- Bachelor's degree in a technology or business-related degree with ten years of application development experience (Master's degree preferred).
- A minimum of five years of experience leading and managing an Application Development team.
- A minimum of five years of Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance industry experience (Healthcare Liability Insurance, preferred).
- Experience implementing and maintaining Salesforce Sales, Service & Marketing Clouds.
- Understanding of data management concepts (i.e., Master Data Management (MDM), data quality, & data governance).
- Experience with various integration approaches across a company's ecosystem.
- Experience working in waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Experience managing Application Development projects in Atlassian Jira Software.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
