RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Boston, MA that is seeking an EMS Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of this Electric Transmission EMS Replacement.
Summary:
This leading energy and utility provider is undertaking a major initiative to replace its existing Energy Management System (EMS) supporting electric transmission operations. This strategic program will modernize real-time grid monitoring and control capabilities, strengthen system reliability, and align with the organization's long-term digital transformation roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the full lifecycle of the Electric Transmission EMS replacement project - including planning, design, integration, testing, and deployment
* Partner with internal stakeholders across Transmission Operations, IT/OT, Engineering, and Regulatory teams to ensure alignment and delivery of business outcomes
* Oversee vendor selection, contract management, and delivery performance, including system integrators and software providers
* Coordinate integration with existing systems such as SCADA, ADMS, OMS, and market operations platforms
* Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, risk management plans, and governance structures
* Manage project financials - including budgeting, forecasting, vendor spend tracking, and financial reporting to ensure alignment with program funding and cost targets
* Ensure compliance with NERC/CIP, cybersecurity, and reliability standards throughout the program
* Lead steering committee reporting, program updates, and stakeholder communications
* Support testing, training, cutover, and operational readiness to ensure a seamless transition to the new EMS environment
* Drive change management and user adoption within transmission operations and control center teams
REQUIREMENTS:
* To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
* Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
