Title: Technical Writer
Location: NY, CT, MA, ME, NH (Remote, Travel if required, expenses will be paid)
Position: Full-Time (Contract-to-Hire)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Technical Writer to provide process and technical writing support for OT (Operational Technology) systems. The Technical Writer will work closely with OT process Points of Contact (POCs) from each utility, as well as stakeholders and WSP resources, to centralize and develop comprehensive process documentation. This role is critical in ensuring clear, consistent, and centralized documentation for OT systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Documentation Development:
Work with OT process POCs from each utility to centralize and/or develop process documents for OT systems.
Ensure all documentation is clear, consistent, and aligned with organizational standards.
Collaboration with Stakeholders:
Collaborate with stakeholders and WSP resources to create centralized documentation.
Facilitate communication between teams to gather and validate technical and process information.
Technical Writing Support:
Provide technical writing expertise to ensure all documents are accurate, well-structured, and easy to understand.
Maintain and update documentation as processes and systems evolve.
Standardization and Organization:
Develop and implement standards for process documentation to ensure consistency across all utilities.
Organize and maintain a centralized repository for all OT system documentation.
Education:
- Bachelor s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in technical writing or related areas is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on process documentation.
- Proven experience working with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and centralize documentation.
- Familiarity with OT systems and utilities is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Excellent technical writing and editing skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Confluence, SharePoint, or similar).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation.
