Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Network Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in L2/L3 protocol development and SONiC. The ideal candidate should have a solid networking background along with Python automation, network testing, troubleshooting, and performance benchmarking experience.

L2/L3 networking experience and SONiC experience are required for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in technical discussions with customers to understand and clarify networking requirements.

• Work on L2/L3 networking protocols and network operating system technologies.

• Build and maintain test environments for system and solution validation.

• Develop and enhance network test frameworks and benchmarking tools.

• Develop Python-based automation for network testing and validation.

• Define performance metrics and collect data for network benchmarking.

• Perform hands-on troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis for complex networking issues.

• Validate control-plane and data-plane functionality and performance.

• Contribute to technical projects and share networking expertise across the engineering team.

• Work closely with customers and internal engineering teams to resolve technical issues.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with L2/L3 networking and protocol development.

• Hands-on experience with SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud).

• 3+ years of Python automation/scripting experience.

• 2+ years of experience configuring, testing, or debugging networking systems and solutions.

• Strong understanding of control-plane and data-plane networking.

• Experience with BGP, ECMP, VXLAN, and EVPN.

• Experience with PyTest or similar open-source test automation frameworks.

• Strong networking troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

• Experience with network performance testing and benchmarking.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with commercial or open-source network test frameworks and traffic generators.

• Experience working directly with customers.

• Technical leadership or team leadership experience.

• Experience with network operating systems.

• Familiarity with RDMA and HPC networking.

• Understanding of RoCE and InfiniBand protocols.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 7+ years of relevant experience, or

• Master's degree in a STEM field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or

• PhD in a STEM field with 1+ years of relevant experience.
