Principle Infrastructure Architect

Description

We are looking for an experienced Principle Infrastructure Architect to join a client-focused technology team in Jacksonville, Florida. This Contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for a senior infrastructure specialist who can shape secure, scalable environments while guiding projects from strategy through delivery. The role combines hands-on technical leadership, client partnership, and cross-domain architecture across network, cloud, systems, and identity platforms.

Responsibilities:
Direct infrastructure initiatives from initial planning and technical design through deployment, validation, and operational handoff.
Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for complex issues involving network, cloud, server, and identity environments.
Design resilient and secure architecture solutions that support performance, availability, and business continuity across varied client environments.
Translate business objectives into practical technical plans and communicate recommendations clearly to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
Work closely with account-facing partners and client contacts to align project outcomes, priorities, and long-term technology roadmaps.
Produce and maintain thorough technical documentation, including standard procedures, topology diagrams, implementation records, and support runbooks.
Monitor project scope, timelines, and change impacts, raising adjustments when requirements shift or risks emerge.
Coach entry-level engineers by sharing technical guidance, reviewing work, and contributing to team capability development.
Support infrastructure improvements across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, virtualization, backup, and network security platforms when needed.

Requirements

10+ years of experience in increasingly senior infrastructure, network, or enterprise IT engineering roles.
Demonstrated background operating at a senior escalation or architect level within managed services, technical services, or complex enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in network architecture, including routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless or edge connectivity concepts.
Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Windows Server, Entra ID, and Active Directory.
Working knowledge of virtualization and systems platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V, along with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
Proficiency in security and identity disciplines such as IAM, conditional access, privileged access concepts, SIEM tools, and policy-driven access control.
Ability to automate administrative and operational tasks using PowerShell.
A minimum of three current certifications spanning at least two infrastructure, cloud, networking, security, or backup domains is required.
